Rebecca Wakeling (b1992) is a prize winning British artist based in the rural village of Earls Colne, Essex. Having trained in fine art in Colchester Rebecca’s work leans towards the figurative; she’s multi- disciplinary in her approach, incorporating printmaking and painting in her practice.
Mainly inspired by form, whether it be animals or the human body Rebecca creates stunning pieces with her luscious signature colour and texture. She has an intuitive and strong sense of colour and her palette is rich and unctuous. As an animal and nature lover, animals form a strong core of her work, particularly wild animals whose majesty she captures with potency.
Although relatively new to the art world Rebecca has already garnered attention from the art market, exhibiting at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London and has representation from the Dedham Art & Craft Centre in Suffolk. Rebecca also regularly works to commission.
“My greatest influence for my work is trying to capture the vivacity and fluidity of nature as opposed to the stand still & routine that is the greater part of everyday life”
